Food has
always been our focus at Sagecrest
Catering and The Basement Bistro. Long
before it became popular elsewhere, Chef Damon was working closely with area
farmers,
requesting specific organic vegetables and meats for use in our hand prepared
foods. From
each individual hors d’oueuvre, to
our pates, breads, salad dressings,
sauces, entrees, side dishes
and desserts, all
menu items are original; created and hand prepared by Chef Damon.
While many others make this claim , this is the real thing!
Chef/owner
Damon Baehrel started his culinary career in 1978, gracing the stoves of many
top kitchens in the early to mid 1980’s. He
is completely self taught and has brought his knowledge,
his passion for ingredients, and experience to the heart of Sagecrest
Catering and The Basement Bistro, making them his life’s work.
All
menus at Sagecrest Catering are individually prepared – we do not have
pre-printed
“cookie cutter”
menus for clients to choose from each column. We
custom tailor our menus with
each clients likes and dislikes, season at the time of the event, and the
inspiration of Chef Damon.
We will
also take into consideration which format will lend itself most successfully to
your type of event and guest list: buffet,
food stations, hors d’oeuvre reception, or our popular Contemporary Family
Style Menu. Chef Damon also serves as sommelier of the Basement Bistro, and
lends his expertise in this area to the
beverage portion of off premise events as well.
From standard Beverage Packages to the much broader variety of wines
comprising The Basement Bistro’s wine cellar, all beverage service comes
standard with all proper licenses and insurance.
Your budget will be carefully considered when we are in the process of
planning the menu and beverages for your function.
Your
budget will be greatly influenced by the location and its related fees, so
deciding upon a location is of paramount importance.
Every event is unique, with different logistics involved with location,
time of year, number of guests, etc. This
is where Catering Director
Elizabeth Baehrel applies her planning skills.
